Robert Yoshibo Shell was born in Okinawa, Japan. He received a Bachelors Degree in English Literature from UCLA (University of California at Los Angeles) and attended the Graduate Program in Creative Writing for one year at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. He also took a writing course with John Knowles ("A Separate Peace") at Fort Lauderdale, through Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida. "The Dream Of Dolphin" is his first novel, in progress.

Biography for photography:
Robert Yoshibo Shell received an Associates in Professional Photography Degree from Daytona Beach Commnity College, Florida (now known as The Southeastern Center for Photographic Studies). His ten year span of working as a photographer included advertising photography for three years for Hawaiian Tropic Suncare and Swimwear followed by shooting models composites and portfolios among other freelance assignments. For personal creative expression, he has focused on fine art nudes. He has attended workshops given by world-reknown photographers of fine art nudes, Lucien Clergue, Jock Sturges and Robert Farber. He is searching for a publisher for his collection of nudes with the working title of "Daughters of Eden".
